The shields of the Nipa Valley are generally not carved but only painted. This shield features the classic design consisting of a central band, the spine, with two semicircles (sun and moon) on either side of it.

Carved in the wood of “Fel”, harder than the wood of “Warr”, this shield was used by the chiefs. Arrows bouncing off the shield
